General Information

SANT GADGE BABA AMRAVATI UNIVERSITY, AMRAVATI

1.    All the admissions to various courses unless specified will be made as per the rule no. 2/1998 amended by rule no. 1/1999, 4/2003 and 6/2005.

2.    Part-2 and onward admissions: Respective department will make all the part-2 and onward years' admissions to various courses in the university. All eligible students will have to confirm their admissions within 10 days from the declaration of their results.

3.    Part-1 admissions:

i) Admissions to Part-l of MBA, B.Tech (Chemical technology), MCA and M. P. Ed. courses will be made as per the Govt. of Maharashtra/AICTE/ DTE/ NCTE etc. rules,

ii)Admissions to Part-l of M.Sc. (Biotechnology), will be made as per the merit at Entrance test conducted by the University for specific purpose.However for M.Tech. (Chemical Technology) the admission will be made as per the GATE score. If the seats remain vacant, the university level entrance test will be conducted and as per the score the vacancies will be filled up.

iii) All other admissions to Part-l viz. M.A./ M.Sc./ M.Ed./ B.L.I.Sc./ M.L.I.Sc./ LL.M/ PGDCS Courses will be made group wise and respective subjects given below in the table,

Iv) Separate form be submitted for each group.

4. The admission would be done centrally by COUNSELING. All the applicants are required to be present at the admission centre so specified by the Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University authority to indicate their choices against the seats in the various subjects, which would be available to them as per their turn according to merit list.

5. Candidate shall submit group wise only one application form for all the courses for which he/she is eligible. The applicant shall give subject wise order of preference in which he/she wishes to apply for admission.

6. Overall the total intake is divided in three categories namely, Host University students (HUS 70%), Other University Students (OUS- 20%) and Foreign university students /NRI's (FUS/NRI 10%). The same is indicated in respective pages as per the course. However, in case of vacancies, if any will be offered to Host University students. In this case, all the students are required to be present on the date and time specified in the schedule for respective courses.

7. The departmental information like Courses run, Eligibility criteria, Intake capacity, Specializations offered, Head and the other faculty, fees to be paid and Highlights of the Departments etc are given on the separate pages of the information brochure as per the department's code.

8. Each application form must accompany the certificates as per the checklist given below.

Ø  Statement of Marks for S.S.C. (X)

Ø  Statement of Marks for H. S. C. (XII)

Ø  Date of Birth Certificate (e.g. S.S.C. Certificate)

Ø  Statement of Marks for UG Degree Part-1,11, III / P.G. Part I

Ø  Attempts Certificates for UG Part-1, II, III Examinations (issued by University)

Ø  College Leaving /Transfer Certificate.

Ø  Caste Certificate

Ø  Valid Non-Creamy layer Certificate in case of OBC, NT-C & NT-D category students of Maharashtra State.

Ø  Statement of Marks for Diploma / Other if any

Ø  Equivalence Certificate for Other/ Foreign University Students.

Ø  Physically Handicapped Certificate (if applicable)

Ø  Employers sponsorship certificate if employed.

Ø  Gap affidavit, if applicable.

9. The schedule for host university students and for other university/foreign university students is separate. These schedules will be strictly observed and hence candidates should remain present on the specified date and time as per the schedule, failing which his/her claim will not stand for the round.

10. Host University applicants seeking admissions to the courses against the vacancies of other university/foreign university quota will have to remain present (once again) on the date and time specified for the respective courses.

All admissions will be governed by respctive ordinances and government resolutions applicable from time to time.
